Memorial Gifts and Donations
For many years the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library has accepted
gifts and donations as memorials for deceased, as well as to honor those who
are still living.
Individual patrons and organizations have used this service by donating
money to purchase a book in honor of retirements, birthdays, anniversaries and
other special occasions. Patrons have also used the service to place a book
in memory of a friend or relative, or even pets that have passed on.
Donating money to purchase books and other items as memorials or gifts are
very appropriate as they can be used over and over thus benefiting numerous
people who will be attracted to them.
Persons interested in giving a gift or donation to the library should
contact the Administration Office at (419) 422-1712, ext. 238.

Friends of the Library
Who We Are
The Friends of the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library is a volunteer,
non-profit organization dedicated to the support of the Library and its
relationship to the community.
The Friends are enthusiastic supporters united by a common concern for the
well-being of the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library.
The activities of the Friends are managed and directed by the Board of
Trustees of the Friends.
As a Friend, your annual dues will enable the Friends' activities on behalf of
the library to continue and expand. The Friends also welcome donations, gifts,
memorials and bequests for the enhancement of the library.
Donations are welcome to the Friends of the Library Fund at the Community
Foundation.
What We Do
Our Friends help promote the library, develop activities, present
special programs, and encourage reading and use of the library.
We staff the Book Cellar and Cellar Cafe where gently used books, coffee and
pastries are sold.
We conduct a spring book sale with a special advanced sale for Friends
members.
We coordinate and/or sponsor special library programs, staff development and
recognition. The Friends partially fund the library Courier insert, The
Book Ends.
We raise funds through membership dollar and gifts, through proceeds from
the library copy machines, and through sales in the Book Cellar and Cellar
Cafe.
We meet three times each year: February (annual meeting), May and September.
We encourage your attendance to share ideas, to volunteer for programs and to
keep up-to-date on library activities.
